Jimmy Eat World have just release their
4th album and 1st for DreamWorks - Bleed American.
The title track and first single is a sonic boom, a
3 minute pop gem. Along the lines of Blur's "Song
#2" and Weezer's "Hash Pipe".
"Bleed American" has nothing
to do with the tragic events of 9/11 but the title alone
makes you want to sit up, listen and see what J.E.W.
is all about. The band recorded this album themselves
without management or a record label. Old record labels
are like old girlfriends, you will never be appreciated
no matter what you do so move on and don't look back.
The rest of the album is not as hard
edged as the title track but the album is filled with
well crafted pop songs. Bleed American is definitely
worth checking out. Jimmy Eat World have been building
their fan base with explosive live shows, so watch out
for them in your town.
